Dr James Baldacchino

Head of Legal and Enforcement

James Baldacchino is Head of Legal and Enforcement at the Malta Gaming Authority. He graduated as a lawyer from the University of Malta in November 2017 with a Master of Advocacy degree. He joined the Malta Gaming Authority as a Junior Legal Counsel after having been admitted to the bar in March 2018. In his current post, he is involved in overseeing the Maltese regulator’s legal matters, as well as managing its enforcement directorate, responsible for taking enforcement action against any person or entity. He currently chairs the Compliance and Enforcement Committee, is a member of the Supervisory Committee, and was previously the Fit and Proper Committee’s Vice-Chair. James has recently been appointed to the Board of Governors of the FIAU.
