Dr Vanessa Borg

Head of Human Resources

Dr Vanessa Borg holds the post of Head of Human Resources for Malta, Belgium, Spain, UK, Gibraltar and Taiwan with Evolution Gaming Limited, spearheading the company’s HR operations in several studios in Europe as well as managing offices in several other locations. She has been active within the international management field for over two decades, having direct experience of the challenges faced by C-Suite Executives in growing their business and the acumen to engage in senior management discussions to support organisations in achieving their strategic intent.


Vanessa was previously appointed as Chief People and Change Officer with Bank of Valletta p.l.c. whereby she initiated a number of People and Change related initiatives connected to the Bank’s strategic and transformation deliverables. Preceding this role, she was engaged with KPMG as Director, Strategy Advisory, supporting organisations in defining their strategic objectives, integrating their strategy into their operational model and developing monitoring mechanisms to provide regular pulse checks on milestones achieved.


Vanessa has also served as Chief Executive with Argus, an insurance entity having presence in Malta, Gibraltar and Bermuda. During her tenure as CEO, Vanessa played a key role in bolstering the Group’s local footprint especially through the execution of non-organic growth initiatives, whilst ensuring smooth migration of acquired entities and long-term sustainability.


In 2007, Vanessa founded and headed Consultancy and Training Acumen Centre Ltd., whereby since conception, the company enjoyed a string of international awards. It provided strategic and HR advisory services complimented by a portfolio of accredited training programmes. In the capacity of organisation strategy and HR advisor, Vanessa was engaged on a number of international projects within the hospitality, manufacturing, education, tourism, information technology, communications, retail, gaming, financial services and public sectors.


Vanessa has also held corporate senior positions within the hospitality industry and during her tenure with Corinthia Hotels International, she was mainly involved in the development and implementation of HR strategic initiatives across a number of jurisdictions, including the setting up of a Training Academy which was bestowed by notable awards recognising its outstanding quality standards. Vanessa was later appointed as General Manager, Research and Development within the hotel chain, playing a key role in the company’s endeavour for organisational excellence.
