Martin Barner is the Head of Employee Experience & HR Transformation at Sandoz AG. He joined the organisation in 2014, initially with Novartis – then the parent company of Sandoz – as part of the Corporate Strategy team based in Basel. In 2016, he transitioned into Human Resources, becoming Head of HR Strategy & Programme Management Office at Sandoz. Martin began his career at McKinsey & Company and has since held a range of global, regional and local roles across the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. His cross-functional experience spans strategy, marketing, sales and finance. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Copenhagen, and completed part of his studies at the California Institute of Technology. Martin thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments that combine people, performance and technology. As part of Sandoz’s establishment as an independent company, he built and led a global team of over 200 HR professionals. His leadership purpose is centred on exploring what drives human peak performance and on empowering those around him to reach their full potential.
