Nick Tsilas

Assistant General Counsel

Nick is Legal and Government Affair Lead of Microsoft for Southeast Europe, covering 14 countries from Israel, Türkiye, Greece, Cyprus, and Malta to Bulgaria, Albania and the seven countries of former Yugoslavia.  Nick and his team partner with policy makers and customers to facilitate the adoption of responsible AI and cloud-first policies, and support customers in their digital transformation journey.  Nick took on this role in October 2023, and moved to Athens from Seattle, Washington where he has been with Microsoft for over 23 years.  Nick was born in Athens and is thrilled to be back in Europe after living most of his life overseas.

 

In his 20-year career at Microsoft, Nick has been Microsoft’s Lead lawyer for industries (automotive, manufacturing, energy, retail, telecommunications and media, sustainability, and financial services industries), General Manager of Microsoft’s National Technology Office, Assistant General Counsel and Senior Director of Global Government Affairs, and Senior Attorney on the Corporate Standards Legal team.  Before joining Microsoft, Nick practiced law at Willkie Farr & Gallagher in Washington, D.C.  Prior to practicing law, Nick was an electrical engineer at Westinghouse Corporation.  He is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, and has a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering, and a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Stevens Institute of Technology.
