Raquel de Julian Artajo leads the Digital Finance and Innovation Unit at the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), a Unit responsible for policy-making and ensuring supervisory convergence across the EU on innovative areas such as operational resilience, crypto assets, the use of DLT/tokenisation and artificial intelligence in financial markets.

She previously led the Investigations Unit at ESMA and worked as a financial on-site inspector at the Comision Nacional del Mercado de Valores (Spain). Throughout her career Raquel has also developed extensive expertise in organisational transformation.
