Stephen is Chair and Co-Founder at AML Intelligence, the global AFC and FCC regulatory intelligence platform with a monthly audience of some 300,000 professionals.

AML Intelligence operates the AFC Summit Series in London, Dublin and Brussels, oversees the ‘CFCC’ certification for FCC/AML/Fraud professionals in banking, fintech, CASPs and regulation as well as being renowned for its trusted real-time analysis of the sector.

Stephen serves on the Supervisory Board of the World Association of News Publishers (WAN-IFRA). He has served as a member of the European Commission’s High-Level Expert Group on Online Disinformation and on the Board of the World Editors Forum.

He is ex-Group Editor-in-Chief at Independent News & Media, Ireland’s largest media group where he oversaw four national newspapers and the country’s biggest online news site. Stephen is a qualified barrister and criminologist. He holds the Award in Business and Leadership from Cranfield University.
